What you will need.
- A wooden ruler (mine cost just 50c)
2. A piece of wooden dowel (6mm diameter) - also cost around 50c.
- some wood glue
- A pencil
- An electril drill (with various drill bits)
- A three-hole holepunch
- Some paper (punched with the three hole punch)
Step 2: Mark the three holes with your pencil onto the wooden ruler.
Step 3: Using a drill bit that is about half the diameter of the dowel (~3mm) drill a hole through the ruler at each of the marked points. This is so that the soft wood doesn't splinter or crack.
Step 4: Now using a 5mm drill bit, finish drilling out the 3 holes.
Step5: Cut the dowel into equal lengths (this is to your own taste, but should be at leat 1-2cm) and squeeze it into the holes then remove before glueing.
Step 6: Put some wood glue in each of the holes and re-insert the pegs. Let it dry for at least a day or two.
Step 7: I have a sheet of perspex I bought for $2 and when I bought it I got the plastic maker to cut out a circle from the middle of it as well as a couple of little circles. I then just used some masking tape to tape my $1 peg board onto it.
So there you go, the deluxe 2D animator's desk grand total of $3!
Now where did I put my $200 pencil sharpener?
